After a successful inaugural 2006 season Black Swan Antiques of Southampton expands their unique collection of home furnishings. With the new addition the total showroom space will be over 3400 sq ft making Black Swan one of the largest antique stores in the village of Southampton.

Located at 515 Hampton Road in Southampton Black Swan can be considers an alternative to a traditional furniture store. While entering Black Swans main showroom the first thing you notice is extra ordinary size and scale of some of the library furniture that outlines the space. As you work your way through the various showrooms, nine total, each room containing interesting and unusual home décor items. A giant Moose mount above the fireplace, looking down on a 72“ marble table inlaid with flowers made of various semi precious stones. The table sits in the middle of the main showroom filled with furniture, styles ranging from Dutch modern, primitive and classical French to Victorian, Mission and traditional Colonial furniture.

In addition Black Swan has also added two new outdoor furniture lines. A Full line of teak as well as high quality cast aluminum. Both will be sold along side Seaside Casual furniture Manufactured in Newport Rhode Island.

Owner, Randy Kolhoff says. “I think our success can be contributed to the fact we offer such an unusual mix of antique styles. Our niche is we are different. I love the reaction we get from new clients walking into the showroom for the first time. Wow, is usually followed by, I pass by here all the time and had no idea you have such great furniture.” We have been grateful that our customers enjoy sharing us with their friends and neighbors. That has really helped us make our first season a success.”

Randy and his wife Diana opened Black Swan in March of 2006. Randy has been in the home décor business working for a successful Furniture importing company. He has designed and overseen the manufacturing of entire lines of home furnishings. “I studied antiques while designing furniture. I developed a passion for antique furniture as well as all things old.” Randy said. “I enjoy the hunt, finding that unusual piece that has character “. Diana, a former math teacher at the Ross school, handles the bookkeeping, scheduling and takes care of their beautiful 10 month old daughter Helena.

Black Swan Antiques is new company that clings to an old concept that seems to be
disappearing on the east end, a Hampton original, a true Ma and Pa shop with a whole lot of local character and something unique all tastes.
